The complete title of my book is ”The Monster’s Ring”. The author is Bruce Coville. In my book it has l06 pages. I choose this book because right now our class is a reading a Bruce Coville book called “Goblins In The Castle” and I thought it would be interesting to read another monster book so I looked in the school library and found “The Monsters Ring” and the front cover caught my eye and so after I checked out the book and started reading.
In my book the most important character is Russel. Russel is an 11 years old boy in 6th grade. He loves monsters, Halloween, and he’s very very brave! Another important character is Eddie. Eddie is mean, and he bully’s Russel, but Eddie gets bullied by the high School teenagers himself.
Russel is trying to run from Eddie in the woods then russel randomly finds an old ghost town. Russel enters an old store. He figures out that it’s a magic shop. He buys a ring from and old man who lives in a store. When he got home he forgot about Eddie and then he just ignores him. On Halloween night. He put on the ring, and when he did he transformed into a monster. Then later a noticed a piece of paper in the box that the ring was in. And it said ”NEVER CHANGE YOURSELF INTO A MONSTER IN THE LIGHT OF A FULL MOON”. After Russel changed himself into a monster he looked into the sky and seen a full moon staring down at him. That night he went to the magic shop and talked to the old man. He asked him what would happen, and Russel figured out that he would never change back to human until next morning. Russel was worried that his parents would look for him.
But he spent the night at the magic shop and when he woke up he was so happy because he was human. Russel was also embarrassed because when he turned into a monster he clothes got torn off, and Russel was completely naked. It was dark outside so he just ran home as fast as he could so nobody would see him.
Out of 5 stars I would give the book 4 stars because the beginning was confusing but the rest was totally perfect and exciting. I’ll recommend this book to the Halloween and monster lovers.
